Eileen (Fowler) Cottle, of Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, passed away on November 22, 2018, at the age of 102. Eileen was born June 29, 1916, in Little River, KS to Walter and Lillie Sargent. Lillie passed away in 1929 and Walter later married Ellen German. Eileen graduated from Hutchinson High School. She attended Salt City Business School and worked as a telephone operator.

Eileen married Gerald Fowler in 1937 and the couple moved to Pampa, TX. They also lived in Houston, TX, before returning to Hutchinson in 1945. Gerald died in 1970.

Eileen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She worked as a teller for various local savings and loans, until she retired in 1992, when she married Art Cottle. Art passed away in March, 2002. Eileen moved to Wesley Towers in 2013.

Eileen was also preceded in death by: her brother, Olen Sargent; granddaughter, Jill Fowler; and grandson, Kevin Fowler. She is survived by: her three sons, Gary (Jeanene) Fowler of Wheaton, IL, James Fowler of Rose Hill, KS and Robert (Amy) Fowler of Overland Park, KS.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in the Hester Chapel, located at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Lou Ann Welch, 64, of Hutchinson, died November 22, 2018, at her home. She was born January 1, 1954, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Robert and Anna Marie (Loewen) Cheek.

Lou Ann was a 1972 graduate of Hutchinson High School and worked for many years as a CMA at Wesley Towers and Mennonite Manor before becoming an overnight house manager for TECH. She loved playing cards and telling jokes. Lou Ann was a member of CrossPoint Church.

On November 13, 1972, she married William D. ‘Bill’ Welch and they had been estranged. Lou Ann is survived by: husband, Bill; daughter, Tracy Clark (Kyle), Robstown, TX; son, Jason Welch (Dena Noe), Wray, CO; grandchildren, Justin, Shelby and Levi Clark, Zachary and Trinity Welch; stepsister, April Heckel (Richard), Lyons; sister-in-law, Cindy Welch, McPherson; uncle and aunt, Ron and Evelyn Ogle, Hutchinson; nephews, Ricky Heckel and Eric Woodmansee; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by: her parents; stepfather, Harry Hause; grandparents, Cornelius and Anna Loewen; and niece, DeeAnna Heckel.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Katherine Marie ‘Kathy’ Bearden, 81, of Hutchinson died Sunday, November 18, 2018. She was born April 2, 1937, in Liberal, the daughter of Frank Joseph and Dessie Orlean (Norris) Severin.

She was a 1955 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a member of East Point Church of Christ, Wichita. She enjoyed enriching the lives of children both intellectually and spiritually, spending several of her adult years as a para, helping children learn to read. She also taught children’s Sunday school classes and was always helping others in any way she could. She always saw the best in others and was a shining example of a Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had the innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met and could put anyone at ease with her warm, loving, and kind soul.

On January 30, 1956, she married Billy Utah Bearden at Walker Air Force Base, Roswell, New Mexico. Kathy is survived by: her husband of 62 years, Billy; children, David and wife Mary of Greeley, Colorado, Joseph and wife Thuy of Wichita, and Cindy Carr and husband Thomas of Andover; brother, Francis ‘Sonny’ Severin and wife Jolene of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Travis Bearden, Amber Rhea and husband Brandon, Dustin Bearden and wife Amanda Roberts, Billy S. Bearden and wife Taylor Green, Chadd Carr and Amy Le-Bearden; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; granddaughter, Heather Carr; and niece, Sheryl Severin.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum Street, Hutchinson, with Wayne DeWindt presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Matthew Charles-Hunter McCue, 20, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis. He was born July 30, 1998, in Hutchinson, to Janet McCue.

He loved being an Eagle Scout for Boy Scout Troop 7306. Matthew also enjoyed art and singing in choir. He was involved in Envision and participated in walks for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Matthew was a member of Sons of the American Legion and Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Matthew is survived by: mother, Janet McCue of Hutchinson; sisters, Heather Wingrove of Copperas Cove, TX, Janelle Jackson and husband Joshua of Elkhart, and Kelly Najjar and husband Rami of Denville, NJ; grandma, Carolyn Conrad of Hutchinson; grandpa, Michael McCue and wife Connie of McPherson; three nephews; seven nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his grandpa, Woodrow Conrad, and great-grandparents.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th Ave., with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Jewel Frances Neufeld, formerly of Hutchinson, died November 18, 2018, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born April 20, 1925, in La Junta, CO, the daughter of John and Zona (Johnson) Yehle. Jewel worked for many years as a sales clerk at the J.C. Penney department store and with her husband in his business, Jim’s Safety Service.

On March 4, 1950, she married Raymond S. Neufeld in Hutchinson. He died November 30, 2002.

Surviving are: daughters, Shirley Neufeld, Hutchinson, Karen Neufeld, Charlotte, NC, Tina Winslow (Don), Normandy, TN; grandchildren, Lisa Horn (Patrick), Jeff McAdams (Jane), Ryan Neufeld (Jesselyn), Casey Winslow, Lexi Sohl (Craig); eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jan Gisel (Dick), Hutchinson, Marilyn Wilhite, Oklahoma City, OK, Lynne Walborn (Cecil), Great Falls, MT, Lafaun Cranor, Iola; brothers, William Yehle (Ruth), Grants Pass, OR, Ray Yehle (Carol), Meridian, ID; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jewel was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Marg McAdams; son, Steven Neufeld; great-granddaughter, Nicole Smith; sisters, Shirley Colbert, Beverly Yehle, Joyce Phipps; and brother, John Yehle.
