HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Edna F. Wall Hendershot, 99, of Hutchinson, died May 28, 2017, at Hester Care Center at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born July 4, 1917, in Guymon, OK, the daughter of Charley A. and Lucy (Blanchard) Wall.

She grew up in Hutchinson, and graduated in 1935 from Hutchinson High School and in 1937 from Hutchinson Junior College with a teaching certificate. Edna taught elementary school in South Hutchinson from 1937-1941 and then substituted in Harper County after marrying Roger Hendershot. She and Roger lived in Newton, Anthony, and Hays due to his work with Kansas State Extension. While living in Anthony, she served on the city library board as a chairman, was active with PTA, 4-H, and Boy and Girl Scouts. While living in Hays, she co-sponsored the establishment of the Clovia Scholarship House at Fort Hays State University and was named an honorary member of the Clovia group. Upon Roger’s retirement in 1982, they returned to Hutchinson to live. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Together Sunday School Class, and VIP at Trinity United Methodist Church, Reno County Historical Society, Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary and P.E.O. Chapter D.

On May 24, 1941, Edna married Roger Lyman Hendershot in South Hutchinson. He died June 20, 1991. Survivors include: children, Dennis Hendershot and wife Sharon of Overland Park, Judith Hendershot Hall of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Todd Hendershot and wife Angela of Shawnee, and Michelle Wilson and husband Mark of Overland Park; great-grandchildren, Macy and Cade Wilson, Grace Hendershot, A.J. and Jack Makkyla; sisters-in-law, Winifred Hendershot, Glenna Hendershot, and Beverly Hendershot; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Ethel Wall; and son-in-law, Richard Hall.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Elmer. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Evonne Darlene Wiltfong, 85, of Hutchinson, died on May 28, 2017, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born September 4, 1931, in Greensburg, to Glen and Inez (Johnson) Koehn.

Evonne was a social butterfly who was always smiling and loved to make others smile. She loved playing card games, especially “Hand and Foot” and spending time with her family and friends.

Evonne is survived by: children, Scott Allsbury of Gentry, AR, Jamie Johnson and husband Mark of Enid, OK, and Michael Allsbury of Greensburg; brother, Myron Koehn of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Marlene Goins, Sharon Kay Patterson, Donald Koehn, Melvin Koehn; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Allsbury.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Inurnment will take place in Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Elizabeth Janzen, 101, of Hutchinson, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Diversicare, Hutchinson. She was born July 18, 1915, in Buhler, to Jacob and Mary (Braun) Hiebert. Elizabeth was a homemaker, and later in life, an avid bowler for nearly 30 years. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

On July 12, 1937, Elizabeth married Abraham H. Janzen in Buhler. He died Nov. 2, 2003.

She is survived by: sons, Delbert (Drinda Collins) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Levi (Mary) of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Kenneth; daughter, Lyla Moore; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Rd., Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Ramer Wenger and Nathan Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. Fourth Ave., Hutchinson. HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Haven Sue Stambaugh, 11, of Hutchinson, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Children’s Hospital Colorado, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born March 7, 2006, in Salina, to Eric and Amanda (Haskell) Stambaugh.

Haven just completed the fifth grade at Union Valley Grade School. She loved music, especially playing her flute, arts and crafts, and watching her brother, Ethan, play sports. Haven inspired everyone to be a better person and accepted everyone as a member of her family. She had a passion for helping others, and will be fondly remembered as a true inspiration who, despite adversity, never complained about her illness. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

Survivors include: parents, Eric and Amanda; brother, Ethan, age 12; maternal grandparents, Alan and Sandra Haskell of Tuttle, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Ed and Mary Dobkins of Hutchinson; paternal grandfather, James Stambaugh of Belle Plaine; great-grandparents, Clinton and Pearl Haskell of Beaver, Oklahoma, Kenneth and Maudine Stinnett of Belle Plaine; uncle and aunt, Trace and Kendra Haskell of Liberal; and uncle, Dru Stambaugh of Arkansas City; cousins, Joseph and Kaytee Haskell; and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. Haven loved all her family.  Haven was preceded in death by: stepgrandmother, Deanna Stambaugh; great-grandparents, Dalton and Viola Abbott, Ethel and Rusty Tomlinson, Virginia and Francis Dobkins, and Gladys and Victor Stambaugh.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th, Hutchinson, with Keith Bryant and Galen Rawlins officiating.
