Juanita Joanne Page, 85, of Hutchinson, died August 10, 2019, at her residence. She was born September 18, 1933, in Chicago, IL, to Charles Herbert and Anna Charlotte (Wesolow) Lorenz.

Juanita was a 1951 graduate of Trinity High School, River Forest, IL, and attended Harper College, Palatine, IL, and DePaul University, Chicago, IL. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for over 30 years in Illinois and Kansas, and had a great love for animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed traveling (visiting all 50 states, 53 countries and municipalities), reading and needleworking.

On June 18, 1955, she married Gerrild Loren Page at St. Vincent Ferrar Church, River Forest, IL. They lived for 39 years in the Chicago, IL area, and then moved to Wichita. In 2003, they moved to Bend, OR, and then to Hutchinson. They were married over 57 years before his death on November 21, 2012.

Juanita is survived by: son, Jeff Page and wife, Ann Hentzen Page, Hutchinson; daughter, Gail Greaney and husband, Mark Greaney, Sisters, OR; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerrild.

Graveside service will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 7200 E. 45th North, Bel Aire, KS, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating.

Kenneth L. ‘Ken’ McReynolds, 93, died August 9, 2019, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.  He was born May 16, 1926, on the family farm in Osborne County, Kansas, to Jesse J. and Goldie V. (Swander) McReynolds.

Ken graduated as Salutatorian in 1943 from Covert High School. He served in the United States Navy from June 29, 1944, until June 3, 1946, as an IBM machine operator at 7^th Fleet Headquarters in Pearl Harbor-Com Serve Pac.  After Ken was discharged, he attended Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (now Kansas State University), where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry with a minor in Agronomy.  Ken received his Masters Degree in Animal Nutrition July 31, 1954, from Kansas State University.  He was employed by the K-State Extension Service in a variety of positions, retiring as a Farm Management Specialist and Economist.

Ken was active in various civic organizations, including the Rotary Club in Hoxie, Junior Chamber of Commerce in Clay Center, and Toastmasters in Hutchinson.  He was a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi and NARFE, and a charter member of the Kansas Association of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Ken was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. Family meant everything to Ken; he loved all of them unconditionally.

On August 20, 1977, Ken married the love of his life, Marjory Hindsley.  She died June 21, 2013, after almost 36 years of marriage. Ken is survived by:  daughter, Lou Abildgaard (Walt) of Hutchinson; son, Javen Schmucker (Beth) of Newton; grandsons, Ernest Thomas (Wendy), Eric Thomas, Aric McReynolds, Justin Piehler, Miles Everhart, John Abildgaard, Javen Patrick Schmucker; granddaughters, Shelly Bird (Doug), Phyllis Hoover (Dave), Marcie Arrowsmith (Trent); 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Don McReynolds (Doris) and Herbert McReynolds (Olive). He was preceded in death by:  his parents; son, Keith Douglas McReynolds; daughter, Karol Kay Thomas; sister, Verna Elliott; and Keith and Karol’s mother, Jody.

Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, 101 E. 1^st, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mic McGuire officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeanine Rishel officiating.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Leona Jean Kreamer Bush, passed away on August 2, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born June 25, 1944 in Hutchinson, KS to Elmer and Iona (Davis) Greenfield.

Leona grew up in Hutchinson, where she attended Grade school and High school. Leona work for Home Café, Wiley’s as a gift wrapper, JoAnna’s Café, Mistletoe Express and Alco where she retired as a manger after 28 years. Leona learned quilting through Delos V. Smith Center. She was a member of the Kansas Quilt Guild and made many quilts for family weddings and births. She also made quilts for First Call for Help. She was also a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Leona was first united in marriage to Merle J. Harris. Merle preceded her in death. She was then united in marriage to Harold Kreamer. Harold preceded her in death. Leona later married Howard Bush who also preceded her in death.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ann Lou Schneweis.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Dana) Harris, Robert Harris, James (Ann) Harris, Roy (Janelle) Harris; her daughter Debbie Ford; grandchildren, Brad, Jeremy, Thomas, Brandy, Daphney, Amber, Luke and Natalie; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2019 at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 8, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to the Westside Baptist Church and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.

Gary Lee Payne, 61, loving father and grandfather, died Friday, August 9, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 11, 1957, in Kansas City, MO, to Doyle and Betty (Barber) Payne.

Gary attended Hutchinson High School and was a lifelong grain elevator worker, retiring from ADM. He was a passionate sports fan, owning a piece of the Green Bay Packers and cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks, Atlanta Braves, New York Knicks, and watching NASCAR. Gary was a history buff and loved old movies – especially westerns, and classic rock ‘n roll. But most of all he loved spending time with his girls and grandkids.

On April 5, 1980, Gary married Sherry Bradley in Hutchinson. They had three children and later divorced.

He is survived by: daughters, Jessica Susee (Travis), Jackie Hobbs (Scott), Lindsey Hatfield (Nathan); grandchildren, Cole Unruh, Madeline and Maxton Susee, Clayton and Ruby Hatfield, and one scheduled to arrive in November, all of Hutchinson; brother, Bradley Payne, Wichita; sister, Debi Wilson, Hutchinson; one niece and two nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dave Wilson.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. A reception will immediately follow at Knights of Columbus, 1200 W. 15th Ave. Friends and family may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.

Harold Wall, 98, died August 9, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1921, in Buhler, to Abraham and Maria (Schmidt) Wall.

Harold retired from Consolidated Rebuilders, was a farmer, and longtime member of First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

On June 1, 1953, he married Hazel Kerwood. They shared over 43 years of marriage before her death on February 1, 1997.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Road, Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Ramer Wenger and Nathan Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.

Wilma M. Pettay, 87, of Hutchinson, died August 8, 2019, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born January 20, 1932, in Nashville, KS, to William F. and Mary (Peters) Westerman.

Wilma graduated from Nashville High School in 1950. She retired after 18 years of service from the Hutchinson Clinic Medical Records Department. Wilma enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Wilma, along with her sister, Ilene, enjoyed Circle 1, Keenagers, and quilting at the church.

On August 20, 1950, she married C.B. Pettay in Nashville. He died February 14, 1988, after almost 38 years of marriage.

Wilma is survived by: children, Michael Pettay (Karey) of Westerville, OH, Janice Zerger (Tim) of Olathe, Diane Schultz (Dave) of Hutchinson; sister, Ilene Westerman of Hutchinson; brother and sister-in-law, Earl Westerman (Iona) of Nashville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, with another great-grandson scheduled to arrive in November.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Laverne and Geneva Westerman; and son, David Pettay.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastors Quentin Nuttmann and Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel.
