Ann Elizabeth Moyer, 72, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. 

Ann was born on November 5, 1946, in Emporia, Kansas, the oldest child of Bill and Maxine Alexander. Her dad just returned from Europe after World War II. Housing was scarce, so they lived in a renovated boxcar for about a year! The family moved to Osawatamie in 1948 when her dad opened a Ben Franklin Store. Ann attended school in Osawatamie through 7th grade. In 1959, the family moved to Hutchinson and Ann attended Plaza Junior High School and Liberty Junior High School before graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1964. Ann worked for her dad at the Ben Franklin Stores and attended Hutchinson Community College, graduating in 1967.

Ann married John Moyer on March 21, 1971. John was in the U.S. Army and they traveled extensively while he was stationed in Germany. During this time, Ann developed an appreciation for the culture and a love of antique furniture and clocks. She spent her time collecting beautiful pieces that were shipped back to the U.S. and displayed in her home. Ann also loved and collected fine china and teacups. Ann worked for Waggoner’s, Inc., in Yoder, Kansas, for 15 years. Waggoner’s made and installed pew cushions in 48 states. Ann was proud to have been part of a team that made cushions for a church located in the shadow of the Twin Towers shortly after 9/11.

Ann is survived by: her children, Alexandra Mathis, William, and Amanda Johnson; two granddaughters, Taryn and Baylee; and two grandsons, Sheldon and Matthew Mathis. She is also survived by: three brothers and a sister, Phil (Jeanine) of Wichita, Craig (Jill) of Wichita, John (Kay) of Ely, Iowa, and Chris Irwin (Anthony) of Topeka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, John Moyer.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th Street, Hutchinson. Gustav (Gus) Regehr, 91, of Hutchinson, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019, in Rainbow Bend at his daughter’s home. Gus was born October 23, 1927, in rural Inman to George T. and Helena (Fehdrau) Regehr. He attended school in Inman.

On September 20, 1959, he married Ruth Louise Wiebe in Walton. He was employed for many years by Fraese Drug and later for Dillons. He was a longtime member of Bethel Mennonite Church. Gus enjoyed a good joke, solving tricky puzzles, collecting stamps, Bluegrass music and visiting with family and friends. He loved horses and was especially fond of Shetland ponies. He will be remembered for his eagerness to learn new things and his positive, friendly attitude.

Gus was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Rosella Gaeddert and husband Elmer; brother Harold and wife Mary, and infant brother George Jr. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; daughter, Judy (Kathy) of Rainbow Bend; son, Don (Marlene) of Great Bend and Leon (Ruth) of Clarinda, IA; grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) and Heather Auffert, Lance Regehr, Allison and Madison Regehr; and great-grandson Easton Auffert.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 256 8th Ave., Inman. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary.

Gordon D. Foulk, 76, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born October 28, 1942, in Spearfish, SD, to George and Angeline ‘Boots’ (Masquat) Foulk.

Gordon graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. He was a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361. Gordon worked for American Uniform Rental and supervised the laundry department at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

He married Edith Kaiser in Hutchinson. She died in 2014. Survivors include: sons, Garrick Foulk and wife Teresa, and Gregg Foulk and wife Terri, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, London, and Garrison; five great grandchildren; and brother, Rex Foulk, of Hutchinson.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Donna Zerger; and grandson, Josh Jennings.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Teresa Wynn officiating. A private family burial will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.

Rick L. Shober, 66, died February 7, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.  He was born March 11, 1952, in Ephrata, PA, to Clifford Lee and Jean Marion (Dunkelberger) Shober.

Rick graduated from Cocalico High School in Denver, PA.  He was a supervisor for American Maplan Corporation in McPherson with 20 years of service. Most recently, he worked at Midwest Electric (formerly Gibson Industrial Controls). Rick was an avid softball player and coached McPherson Lady Express. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching sports (especially the Philadelphia Flyers & Eagles) and listening to a wide variety of music, especially from the 70’s and 80’s. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and friend. Rick was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to his family and friends.

On August 29, 1987, he married Brenda Kay Reiser in Groveland, Kansas.  They shared 31 years of marriage.

Rick is survived by:  wife, Brenda of McPherson; daughters, Randi Shober (Dave) of Reinholds, PA, Kasey Connor of Steamboat Springs, CO; granddaughters, Emerald Shober (Mark), Reagan Zerbe; great-grandson, Axel Wolf; mother, Jean Shober; sisters, Lynne Bupp (Terry), Valerie Morris, Pamela Kerns (Mel), Marg Reider (Robert), Teena Haake (Keenan);  sister-in-law, Jan Shober; brother, Terry Shober; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends in both Kansas and Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by:  his father, Clifford; stepfather, Laurel ‘Rusty’ Rusk; brother, Rodney Shober; and brother-in-law, Steve Morris.

Celebration of Life  will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at McPherson Free Methodist Church, 1010 S. Maple Street, McPherson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. John Milton Haugsness, 62, of Hutchinson, died February 7, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born April 17, 1956, in Kinsley, to Milton Charles and Louise (Greenstreet) Haugsness.

John graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1974. He worked at Lowen Corporation for 20 years as the digital printing manager. He currently was employed by Morton Salt as a relief operator. John enjoyed hunting, remodeling homes, working on cars, and going to Wal-Mart. Known as ‘Mr. Fix-It’, he was a mentor to many family and friends, teaching them how to do a variety of repair work. John’s greatest passion and joy were his eight grandchildren.

On August 18, 2014, he married Kim Powell.

John is survived by: wife, Kim of Hutchinson; son, Ryan Haugsness (Angie) of Hutchinson; daughters, Kaycee Timken (Brian) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Abby Powell, Stephanie Hogan (Josh), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caden and Connor Timken, Kailey and Landon Haugsness, Blaine Pitts, Zach, Brooke, and Sadie Hogan, Zed and Bayley Ayres; and siblings, Michael Haugsness (Andrea), Greg Haugsness (Kristin), Bryon Haugsness (Sara), Cynthia Kay Haugsness, and Beth Gonzales (Larry).  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. John’s visitation will coincide with his father, Milton’s visitation. Milton died February 6, 2019.
