Lois Faye Nelson, 78, of Hutchinson, died November 2, 2018, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born March 7, 1940, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, the daughter of John N. and Thelma G. (Stewart) Bright. Lois graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1958 and attended Salt City Business College.

She worked as an adjudicator for the United States Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services for over 30 years until her retirement. Lois was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

Surviving are: daughters, Carmen Young and husband Horace of Cibolo, TX, Antoinette ‘Toni’ Nelson of Lawrence, Jacque Bosanco and husband Jack of Millington, TN; grandchildren, Alexandria, Mariah, Jack, Illeana, Aiden, Yessenia, John, and Jasmine Bosanco; sister, Vivian Lowe of Hutchinson; and brother, John Wayman Bright and wife Louise of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, with Father Juan Garza officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association or the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Cheryl Jones, 70, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. She was born August 4, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Harold and Lois (Kitch) Bramley.

She graduated from Fairfield High School and attended Hutchinson Community College, Sterling Community College, McPherson Community College. She continued her education and received her special education degree.  Cheryl was a school teacher for 29 years in the Hutchinson area.  She was also a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

On April 21, 1984, she married Raymond Jones in Hutchinson. He survives.

Cheryl is survived by: husband, Raymond Jones of Hutchinson; daughters, Stephanie Norquist of Hutchinson and Denise Hardy and husband Travis of Edgerton; sister, Nancy Hiebert of Lawrence; aunt, Maxine England of Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Dick Jones and wife Mattie of Sterling; sister-in-law, Alverna Jones of Hays; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Keith Dellenbach  officiating. A family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Elliott Mortuary.  Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cheryl Jones Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Donald E. ‘Don’ Schinstock, 75, of Hutchinson, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born November 28, 1942, in Kinsley, to Joseph John and Edna Ferne (Countryman) Schinstock.

Don graduated from Kinsley High School in 1961 and attended Salt City Business College. He was a farmer and stockman and district sales manager for Vigortone. During high school Don was very active in FFA. In addition, he served as a Reno County 4-H leader, Reno County Fair board member, and Reno County Pork Producers. Don encouraged both his children and grandchildren to be involved in 4-H, and he took an active role in attending their 4-H events and school activities. He was also a charter member of the Great Plains 2-Cylinder Tractor Club, 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7279, and member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

On October 5, 1963, he married Carole Byers in Hutchinson. She died May 13, 1994. On April 21, 1995, he married Izetta Smith Schriner in Hutchinson. She died December 14, 2010. On November 12, 2011, he married Sharon Barber Brungardt in Garden City.

Don is survived by: wife, Sharon of Hutchinson; sons, Randy Schinstock, Rod Schinstock, both of Wichita; daughters, Michele Pitts (Kelly) of Buhler, Rachele Strawn (Mark) of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Michael Schriner (Kim) of Colby, Scott Schriner (Jane) of Inman, Curt Brungardt (Christie) of Hays, Julie Henley (Robert) of Farmington, New Mexico, Wes Brungardt (Cindy) of Garden City, Janet Gonsalves (Joe) of Derby; brother, Melvin of Kinsley; 26 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Harold and Leo Schinstock; and sister, Pat (Schinstock) Barrett.

Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Stan Lyon, 93, of Hutchinson, died Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Hospice House. He was born September 19, 1925, in LaGrande, Oregon, to Fred and Thelma (Oesterling) Lyon, Sr.

He graduated from LeGrande High School and attended an electrical vocational school in Chicago. Stan was an electrical maintenance foreman at KP&L for nearly 35 years. He was a past president of the Kennel Club and Salthawk Archery Club in Hutchinson. Stan proudly served in the United States Navy. He was extremely active and strived for excellence in everything he did. Stan was always surrounded by a very loving family and group of friends. He was truly loved and will be missed by many.

On May 7, 1946, he married Charlotte ‘Chuckie’ Robinson. She died March 11, 1997. He then married Dinah Fulton on September 18, 2002.

Stan is survived by: wife, Dinah; sons, David (Kim Masterson), and Michael (Margarita) Lyon, and Bobby Fulton, all of Hutchinson; daughters, Denise Taverner (Joe) of Udall, Susan Schuller of Denver, and Peggy Detwiler (Rob) of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Janice Rickard of Vancouver, WA.

Stan was preceded in death by: his parents; first wife, Charlotte; and brother, Ben Lyon.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
