HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs travel to Derby tonight for Sunflower League action.

The Monarchs game versus Haysville was cut short because of a sprinkler system malfunction.

Hutchinson has been on a little bit of a break because of the league’s All-Star Game at Eck Stadium that was played on July 2.

Hutchinson Monarchs defeated Andale Warhawks 7-0 on Sunday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.  L.J. McDonough got the win after going 5 innings, giving up only 2 hits and striking out 7. Ty Clark induced a fly out from Ethan White to finish off the game. Ramos took the loss for the Warhawks
Hutchinson Monarchs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Garrett Stephens singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Hutchinson Monarchs scored three runs in the seventh inning. Kevin Cronin and Ryan Stoecklein all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

A single by Tanner Buckley in the fourth inning was a positive for Andale Warhawks.
L.J. McDonough toed the rubber for Hutchinson Monarchs. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out seven.
Steve Ramos led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Andale Warhawks. He went nine innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits and striking out six.
Hutchinson Monarchs racked up ten hits in the game. Conor Craig, Brayden Whitchurch, and Stephens each managed multiple hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Craig went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hutchinson Monarchs in hits.

The Monarchs return home on Tuesday night to take on the Haysville Aviators at 7:00 pm.

ANDALE, Kan. — Hutchinson Monarchs got a win on the road Saturday night with a win over the Andale Warhawks, 8-4.
Hutchinson Monarchs got things moving in the first inning. Garrett Stephens doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the first inning, Andale Warhawks tied things up at two when Ethan Bergkampsingled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

After Hutchinson Monarchs scored two runs in the top of the ninth, Andale Warhawks answered with two of their own. Hutchinson Monarchs scored when Stephens singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Jackson Loftin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Andale Warhawks then answered when Steve Ramos singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Thomas Beiswanger drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hutchinson Monarchs pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Colton Cowser doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and Taylor Barber homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Joshua Fortenberry toed the rubber for Hutchinson Monarchs. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one.
Santiago Hungria was on the pitcher’s mound for Andale Warhawks. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while walking one. Ryan Dearing threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.
Hutchinson Monarchs launched one home run on the day. Barber had a long ball in the fifth inning.
Hutchinson Monarchs collected 12 hits on the day. Loftin, Conor Craig, Kevin Cronin, Stephens, and Cowser each collected multiple hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Cowser, Stephens, Cronin, Craig, and Loftin all had two hits to lead Hutchinson Monarchs.  Bergkamp went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Andale Warhawks in hits.

Hutchinson returns to Andale again tonight to play the Warhawks.  First pitch is set for 6:00 pm.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Jackson Loftin had the hot hand on Friday, tallying four hits and leading Hutchinson Monarchsto a 12-2 victory over Cheney Diamond Dawgs. Loftin singled in the third, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
In the first inning, Cheney Diamond Dawgs got their offense started. Kennard’s sac fly scored one run for Cheney Diamond Dawgs.
Hutchinson Monarchs notched three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Hutchinson Monarchs was led by Loftin, Scott Wolverton, and Mason Lowe, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Matt Hopkins led things off on the mound for Hutchinson Monarchs. He surrendered two runs on six hits over six innings, striking out six.
Schumann was on the hill for Cheney Diamond Dawgs. He allowed six hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two. #16 threw three innings out of the bullpen.
Hutchinson Monarchs launched one home run on the day. Keith Wolverton had a long ball in the third inning to score Loftin and Rindt to blow the game open.
Hutchinson Monarchs totaled 13 hits. Loftin, Taylor Barber, and Dylan Nedved each racked up multiple hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Loftin went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Hutchinson Monarchs in hits. Hutchinson Monarchs didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wolverton had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
Cheney Diamond Dawgs tallied six hits on the day. Jackson Glemm and Pruitt each had multiple hits for Cheney Diamond Dawgs.

The Monarchs honored Lindy Wray who was a former Hutchinson Community College baseball player with a moment of silence prior to the game.  Wray was tragically killed this week at his home in Hutchinson.  He was layed to rest Friday morning. Wray was 34 years of age.  The Wray family has been involved with baseball and softball for many years in Hutchinson.  His number 27 was chalked on the field behind home plate.

BUHLER, Kan. — Wednesday’s game against El Dorado Broncos was a heartbreaker for Hutchinson Monarchs, as they lost the lead late in a 6-4 defeat. El Dorado Broncos trailed 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when Woods singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
White led things off on the mound for El Dorado Broncos. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five.
Matt Dillard was the starting pitcher for Hutchinson Monarchs. He lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits

and four runs while striking out nine and walking zero. Dawson Dreher threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Brayden Whitchurch went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hutchinson Monarchs in hits. Hutchinson Monarchs stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Colton Cowser led the way with four.
El Dorado Broncos scattered nine hits in the game. Milton, Elliott, and Woods all managed multiple hits for El Dorado Broncos. El Dorado Broncos was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Marler made the most plays with eight.

The Monarchs travel to Cheney on Thursday to take on the red hot Cheney Diamond Dawgs.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — UPDATE-  This camp has been postponed again.The Hutchinson Monarchs announced that the Rookie League Camp scheduled for Monday, June 10, has been postponed again due to Tuesday night rains.

Refunds will be given to those who registered and cannot make the new dates.

WICHITA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs took the lead late in the game in an 8-4 victory over El Dorado Broncos on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with the Monarchs batting in the top of the seventh when Colton Cowser doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
After Hutchinson scored one run in the top of the fifth, El Dorado Broncos answered with one of their own.

Hutchinson scored when Cowser doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. The Broncos then answered when Richey drew a walk, scoring one run.
Polk led things off on the pitcher’s mound for El Dorado. He went nine innings, allowing eight runs on 14 hits and striking out nine.

The Monarchs launched one home run on the day with Conor Craig going long in the seventh inning.

The Monarchs racked up 14 hits in the game. Cowser, Brayden Whitchurch, Mason Lowe, Ryan Stoecklein, and Dylan Nedved all managed multiple hits for Hutchinson Monarchs.

Cowser led Hutchinson Monarchs with three hits in five at bats.

El Dorado Broncos scattered eight hits in the game. Kin and White each racked up multiple hits for El Dorado Broncos.
